Youngsters defy rain for Afghanistan hero Jay

A five-a-side children’s football tournament and family fun day in memory of a Walsall soldier killed in Afghanistan took place in Bloxwich on Saturday, and has been hailed a success by organisers and participants alike despite the plucky youngsters’ own battle – against the rain!
But none were downhearted by the downpour as five teams of under-nine-year old players fought bravely and skilfully for a special trophy during a highly-competitive series of matches at King George V playing fields…
