Wednesfield firm helps sculptor achieve national success

Wednesfield-based Edward Howell Galvanizers has offered a helping hand to an up-and-coming artist which has seen her reach the final stages of a national sculpture competition.

Wolverhampton sculptor, Dawn van Gerven, was selected by South West-based Broomhill Art and Sculpture Foundation to bring her ‘Spanish Dancers’ to life.

Having welded the structures herself at facilities at Wolverhampton University’s sculpture department, Dawn approached Edward Howell Galvanizers Ltd who undertook the process of galvanizing the steel used to construct the sculpture, which involved it being dipped in molton zinc at a temperature of 450°C…
