Local members recently participated in both the Midlands and North Midlands competitions winning an impressive eleven medals from both tournaments. All trained incredibly hard for their divisions putting in maximum effort to get the massive haul of medals.

Taekwondo takes its influences from ancient Korean martial arts forms as well as many other martial arts including Japanese karate and it is characterised by fast, high and spinning kicks. Taekwondo became an official Olympic sport at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and last week it was reaffirmed as a core sport in the 2016 games.
