Walsall soldier in Help for Heroes fraud charge

A serving Walsall soldier is to appear at crown court accused of carrying out bogus collections for charity Help for Heroes.

Ashley White, aged 24, of Tasker Street, Walsall, with the Royal Signals Corps 222 Regiment, was at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

White denied the fraud charge. District judge Michael Morris committed him to Wolverhampton Crown Court on May 12.
