Walsall Council to charge for parking on Remembrance Sunday

Parking charges will be enforced in Walsall town centre on Remembrance Sunday – despite tickets being rescinded last year following complaints.

Walsall Council will not waive fees for visitors using car parks while paying tribute next month.A number of people who attended last year’s service, including former soldiers, returned to find they had been hit with £25 fines…




Ian Shires says:

According to Tom Ansell parking spaces will be provided for invited guests. What about ordinary ex forces people and their families who just want to attend to remembers their comrades. Wouldn’t it make sense to waive charges for the duration of the parades and services?
