Walsall council Leisure bosses on cash saving, fact-finding mission
Council chiefs from Walsall are to go on a fact-finding visit to leisure facilities in two northern towns as part of a major review of community buildings. They need to save £50m in the next three years.
A delegation of councillors and leisure managers are to travel to Rotherham, Yorkshire, and Bolton, Lancashire, on a fact-finding tour of leisure centres…

I wonder how much cash will be saved by sending this delegation of councillors and leisure managers, are they dipping into their own pockets for this trip or will it be the residents of Walsall who pay for their “fact finding trip”. Never mind they will probably be drinking water from the tap in their B&B and will no doubt be taking sarnies on the way up. In due course Walsall council will be publishing figures on how many people went on this trip and how much it cost, won’t they?
