Unemployment drops 6,000 in West Midlands

Unemployment in the West Midlands fell by 6,000 in the three months to February, official figures have revealed. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that a total of 253,000 people were unemployed in the region between November and February.

The region’s unemployment rate was 9.5% and saw a decrease of 2.23% during the period. The worst in the UK was the East Midlands which saw the biggest increase in people out of work at 7.8% followed by East Anglia at 5.88%.
