The EDL return to Dudley

There were 20 arrests at Saturday’s EDL demo in Dudley, and police are appealing for witnesses after six people were injured in a traffic collision in King Street close to the protest.

As sirens competed with racist chanting in Dudley, it was only too clear that the English Defence League (EDL) had returned to the town.

The rally was organised to protest against a new mosque in Dudley, which doesn’t seem to be getting built anyway, according to the Council. With the sentiment of “we don’t want any mosque in any town in England anymore” echoing from the PA system, it seemed like yet another day devoted to the EDL’s anti-Islamic and often violent tactics…
