Mad Dog and Mr Fantastic fight it out
Walsall brothers Matt and Adam Powell were often told off for fighting as youngsters. But on Friday night, they stepped into the ring to battle it out for the first time as professional wrestlers in front of a full house home town crowd.
Boos and cheers rang out at the packed Saddlers Club, close to the Banks’s Stadium, as the Walsall brothers got ready to rumble…

Pro Wrestling’s “Wrestle-Slam” tour makes its first 2011 stop off in Walsall on Friday 25th February. The high octane, drop kicking show will have a special twist on it for Walsall grapple fans.
The show that features Europe’s top professional wrestlers, will host a battle between two Walsall brothers. Matthew Powell (AKA “Mad Dog” Maxx) will square off against his brother Adam Powell (AKA Mr Fantastic) in a top of the bill clash.
“I’ve been wrestling professionally for 11 years now, all over Europe, and even two tours of the USA, I’ve fought top Americans, but this bout is my most anticipated bout in years!” Says Matthew (26 years old, of Tame Street East) on his huge clash against his brother.
“I’ve only been professional for two years now, I’ve followed my brother into the Wrestling and I’m shocked this match has been made so soon, but I can see why it has, there will be a lot of people there on the night who know us both, they wont know who to cheer for and it will make for a very interesting situation, Matt is my brother but on Friday 25th at the Saddlers Club he will be my opponent, and after the bell, he will be my brother again!” – Says Adam, 21, also of Tame Street East.
The event being held at the Saddlers Club, Bank’s Stadium, Bescot Crescent, Walsall will also play host to other colourful characters such as the Spanish High Flyer – Carlos Renaldo, Dutch Heavyweight -Tom Mason, “Lord” Graham Thomas III, “Tiger” Singh, The Mighty Thor and many, many more. All will provide a big slice of Body Slamming, Drop Kicking, Pile Driving action that will make for a huge night of family entertainment!
Tickets are £5.00 each or £17.50 for a family of four. Doors to the event will open at 7.00pm with the show starting at 7.30pm, info on tickets and the event itself can be obtained by calling 07885 763 966.
