A father and daughter from Walsall who were involved in a £12 million VAT con have been spared an immediate stint behind bars.

Reginald Turner, former owner of The Rising Sun biker pub in Walsall and ex-president of Kavern Motor Cycle Club, and his daughter, single mother-of-two Tammy Copson, of Rowley Street, were both given a one-year prison sentence, suspended for two years..

A Walsall man and his daughter have pleaded guilty to fraud offences they committed as part of a gang’s £12 million scam.

Reginald Turner, aged 62, of Broadway Well, and Tammy Copson, aged 32, of Rowley Street, were part of an operation which created an illegal network of companies to steal VAT. A third Walsall resident, Wayne Murden, aged 47, of Abelwell Street, also pleaded guilty…
