Rushall Olympic were held to a goalless draw by a youthful Saddlers side in Tuesday’s friendly at Dales Lane.

With Walsall bringing a mix of youth teamers and first year pros the Pics started with a side with a fair share of possibles and a bench consisting of a larger proportion of probables.

The Pics however were quickly out of the blokes and Ashley Francis used his pace to break clear of the Saddlers back line, he was brought down by Liam Mayer and the referee pointed to the spot. Neil Zaric took the spot kick but his drive lacked sufficient angle and allowed Mayer to make up for his error…
