Tom Williams signed on at the Banks’s Stadium for the rest of the season this week determined to help the Saddlers stay up.
The 30-year-old – released by Bristol City last month – is a left-sided player who can operate in defence or midfield and was an unused substitute in Tuesday night’s game with Dagenham.
The much-travelled Williams – who counts West Ham, Peterborough, QPR Barnsley, Gillingham, Swansea, Wycombe and, most recently, Colchester on loan as former clubs – believes he will settle in quickly.
