Reed makes rivals weep for Aldridge
Aldridge produced the goods to finally romp home. After resisting the home side’s fast start, the forwards took one against the head and swiftly fed blindside winger Adam Reed, who made good ground to score in the corner.
That was consolidated by a penalty from scrum-half Chris Jones but, despite having most of the possession, there was a lack of incisiveness about the visitors’ play.

Aldridge too strong in one-sided contest
Aldridge’s run of good form continued with this emphatic Midlands Five West (North) victory over bogey side Whittington.
Tries from flanker Adam Reed and centre Ben Pittam, plus a penalty apiece from full-back Alex Yates and scrum-half Chris Jones, had Aldridge sitting comfortably on a 16-0 lead at the interval.

Aldridge leave it late before securing shut-out victory

Double delight for Aldridge after they defeat Griffs again
Aldridge produced a repeat of the previous week’s league victory over Griffs to complete a seven-day double and progress in the Vase.
From the kick-off, the Aldridge forwards forced the ball into Griffinians’ left corner and, after a couple of pick and drives, the point of attack was switched along the backs to create space for winger Pierre Bridon out wide.

Chesterfield ended Aldridge’s run in the RFU Junior Vase competition. Saturday’s game looked winnable for Aldridge until midway through the second half when the effort by their pack began to falter, allowing the visitors to utilise their backs.
It had become apparent early on that the visitors had plenty of pace in their three-quarter line and only the efficacy of Aldridge’s forwards denied them worthwhile possession for long periods.
