WM Police 25 Feb 11

Police are hunting two men who indecently exposed themselves to a mother as she collected her children from a Walsall school.

The 46-year-old mum was walking along a path connecting Beechdale and Birchills estates – known locally as the “Ash Track” – when she was grabbed by a man who had his trousers round his ankles.

It’s understood the men were loitering under the bridge over Reedswood Way just after 3pm on Wednesday February 16 when they approached the victim.

Neighbourhood police Sergeant Chris Jones, said: “This route is a well-used cut-through to the local school so it is particularly disturbing for men to be acting like this in a place they may be seen by children.

“The lady was propositioned by one of the men who tugged her coat as she walked past.

“She was extremely distressed by the incident and ran off in tears…she eventually called a taxi to take her to the school to avoid the risk of bumping into them again.”

Both men are described as white, in their late teens or early 20s, of slim build and about 5ft 5ins tall. One was wearing a grey hooded top and the other a black hooded top.

Sgt Jones is urging anyone else who may have seen the men to contact him. He added: “There’s a chance they may have done this before but their actions dismissed by victims as a sick prank.

“However, anyone who’s been indecently exposed to like this should contact police as they may hold information that can help us arrest these individuals.

“We’re treating these reports very seriously and, given that the victim was grabbed by one of the offenders, it has been recorded as a sexual assault.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Birchills Neighbourhood Police team on 0345 113 5000 (ext 7889 6770) or call Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555 111.
