Advertiser 7 Oct 10

Last week, the Advertiser reported on two-year-old Samuel Banner’s meeting with a local beat bobby.

The article, based on information presented in a formal police press release, stated that Samuel was recovering from a life-threatening illness.

West Midlands Police has since said its release was incorrect in this matter and has apologised to both the family and the Advertiser.

The Advertiser would also like to apologise for any distress inadvertently caused by the article, which was published in good faith.

TheYamYam 17 May 10

We wish to offer a full and unreserved apology to Mr Ramesh Chauhan for an aggregated extract of a report we linked to on another website, and published by theyamyam.com on 1 May 2010 under the headline ‘Greedy Walsall millionaire jailed for fiddling benefits’.

The report related to Naresh Chauhan, of Walsall, who was convicted and sent to jail for benefit fraud. The report was incorrectly illustrated with a picture of Mr Ramesh Chauhan which was a thumbnail detail of the original photograph which appeared alongside the original aggregated report.

Mr Ramesh Chauhan is employed as a barrister’s clerk in Birmingham and has no connection with Naresh Chauhan, or with any of the events reported and has no criminal convictions of any kind, and his photograph was reproduced in error.

We offer our sincerest apology to Mr Ramesh Chauhan for any embarrassment and distress caused to him by the publication of his photograph in connection with this report.
