On Tuesday the Stirrer reported on the Express & Star’s bid to capture the Birmingham Mail’s traditional territory. On Wednesday, the Express and Star re-launched it’s website with a crisp new design. On Wednesday afternoon, the Birmingham Mail produced its last pm version of the paper. As of Thursday, the Mail is on the streets as a morning edition, competing with the nationals. With the Birmingham Post reduced to one weekly edition and with a much reduced and demoralised Trinity Mirror workforce, the Express and Star’s bid to win the Birmingham battle may be easier than they anticipated…
