Breathing Space, the Walsall-based charity which helps people set up their own business, has signed up to Walsall’s Cloud Net Connect – an internet phone system, designed for small business, charities and start ups.
“As a charity, one of our priorities is keeping overheads low”, explains Glennys Davis, General Manager, Breathing Space. “The Cloud Net system is internet-based so no switchboard hardware is required and there are no hefty set-up costs whereas upgrading our existing system would have cost over £1,000. We now have professional switchboard functionality, free plug-and-play VoIP handsets and low-cost calls.”
For a fixed monthly fee of £8.50 per handset, Cloud Net Connect provides Breathing Space with free internet phones and an internet-based switchboard providing functionality such as call forwarding, voicemail and conference calls. The subscription also includes unlimited free calls within the Cloud Net network and low-cost local, mobile and international calls. Calls are charged by the second rather than rounded up to the nearest minute like most telecoms suppliers.
“Installation of the Cloud Net VoIP phones was really simple as they just plugged into our network router, which is much more convenient than our old PBX switchboard where we had countless connections coming up through the floor,” commented Glennys. “The whole process only took 30 minutes and we didn’t lose precious time on booking and managing installation engineers.”
Breathing Space liked the system so much that it recommended it to one of its business partners, Bringing Enterprise to Life, a training company specialising in courses for start-ups and business management. After implementing the Cloud Net Connect system, both organisations can now take advantage of free calls to each other.
“We are delighted with the Cloud Net system for its ease of use and simplicity of installation,” adds Glennys. “We have also benefitted from a 50% reduction in call costs through per-second billing.”
