Lewis Taylor Trophy
Burntwood lifted the Lewis Taylor Trophy for the third time in nine seasons and fittingly it was the game’s only try scorer, skipper Graham Shelley, who did the honours.
The game itself proved disappointing in terms of quality rugby but with the teams only separated by a solitary penalty goal going into the last 10 minutes of playing time it proved a typically tense finale to the occasion.

Burntwood faced a battle from the off after using all three replacements in the opening half-an-hour of their clash with Moseley Oak. And to add injury to insult, the 30 minute spell saw them go two tries down and see one player already in the sin bin. However, they did make a fight off it and got with three points of their hosts before seeing two late tries kill off their hopes of a comeback…
