Confidence is high at Walsall, as we head into our second away game of the season. The first two games we were simply not good enough and, with all due respect, were comfortably beaten by two very average teams. Then against the odds, as Walsall do best, we conjured six points from Brentford and Plymouth.

Considering our lacklustre start to 2010/11, we acquitted ourselves well and there are plenty of encouraging signs to build upon. The standard against Brighton will be indicative as to whether we have turned the proverbial corner. Without intending to excuse the poor performances that preceded Brentford, we were clearly missing something up front…
