A Walsall law student told two Sikh friends she would inform their families they had Muslim boyfriends unless she was paid £6,000. Jaspreet Klair, aged 19, was given two years detention by Judge John Warner, sitting at Wolverhampton Crown Court, who said “blackmail is a very ugly and nasty crime”. A second defendant, 20-year-old Opkar Singh, of Birmingham Road, Walsall, also admitted one charge of blackmail. He was sentenced to 18 months in a Young Offenders’ Institution…
