All Walsall’s leisure centres could be closed and demolished under shock proposals revealed today that would save the council £50million in three years.
It is the most drastic of six measures outlined in a review by council chiefs. It would see the council withdrawing completely from front line service provision, leading the way for private firms to build facilities.
