Roaring success for Walsall Town Show
A quiet afternoon in Walsall Arboretum was cranked up a gear on Sunday when the rip-roaring snarl of giant truck engines and the piercing hoot of steam whistles echoed across Walsall, heralding day two of this year’s Walsall Town Show.
Heavy rain on Saturday had tried hard, but ultimately failed, to cast a wet blanket over the popular event which in its second year switched seamlessly from celebrating the 150th birthday of Bloxwich fairground mogul Pat Collins (in 2009) to raising money for the Mayor of Walsall’s main charity – Walsall Hospice – and Afghan Heroes which supports British Forces in Afghanistan and looks after the welfare of those involved in the conflict and their families…
