A forty-nine-year-old Walsall man who twice assaulted his wife has been placed under supervision for a year after a court was told reconciliation was on the cards.

John Bagshaw gave wife Lesley a black eye with a punch to the face after he had been out for a drinking session, said prosecutor Emma Rutherford.
