Around 15 jobs are on the verge of being axed at Links to Work, which provides care for more than 150 disabled people, as faces a £400,000 shortfall this year. The Stephenson Avenue-based centre, in Beechdale, specialises in sorting materials for recycling, but it has lost a lot of its business following a revamp of the borough’s waste collection system – which now sees more recyclable materials collected from people’s doors...
