M6 Toll “has been a costly mistake”

The M6 Toll in the West Midlands has been a costly failure and the Government should not rely on such toll roads to solve transport problems, according to a new report released today by the Campaign for Better Transport.
Instead, scarce public funds should be spent on maintaining the roads we have and giving people good alternatives to car use.
Ha, the ‘Campaign for Better Transport’ should of course be called the ‘Campaign for Better Public Transport’ given that it is funded by bus and rail companies. Simple solution to the M6 Toll is for the govt to nationalise it and scrap the tolls
