Job threat from £365m council cuts

Devastating cuts totalling £365 million are being made at West Midland councils, leaving thousands of jobs at risk and threatening front-line services.

Figures today reveal Wolverhampton Council has to make £70 million of cuts on top of the £27m it already has to find, leading to fears 2,000 jobs will be axed. Walsall Council announced it predicted cuts of £50m, with Sandwell Council preparing to slash £65m off its budget…
