Future secured for Hill Top pub

Express & Star 5 Apr 10

The future of a 284-year-old pub in Hill Top has been secured after the landlord signed a new five-year deal to stay on. Planning permission to convert the Sow & Pigs pub into homes was last year refused following protests and a 600-signature petition.

Now landlord Nirmal Cheb, who took charge in October, 2008, is hoping to boost the fortunes of the pub, which dates back to 1726.
