Every infant for himself
Little Michael Gove must be delighted. Park Hall Infants School in Walsall has applied for, and been granted, Academy status.
As the good ship education crashes into the iceberg of political dogma, Park Hall will receive funding beyond its wildest dreams as the only school in our bit of the universe to sell its soul to the idiot we call Little Michael Gove.
Park Hall is a successful school. Ofsted, if they are to be believed, judged the school to be “outstanding” in February 2008 and the leadership displayed by management and the governing body also received the highest possible acclaim. Well done Park Hall Infants and well done to the parents of Park Hall infants for taking the bold decision to apply for Academy status. The school is one of 900 “outstanding” schools who responded to Little Michael when he asked if schools wanted a nice, shiny badge. There are 21,000 state schools in England…
